I want to take a moment of your time to introduce myself and make you aware that I will be working with RSU 38 students as their full-time School Resource Officer (SRO). My name is Deputy Nathan Johnson. I work for the Kennebec County Sheriff's Office and I have been in law enforcement for six years. I am also a Staff Sergeant in the Maine Army National Guard Military Police Company, which I have served for twelve years. I grew up in Mount Vernon, graduated from Maranacook Community High School, and currently reside in the community with my wife and daughter.
As your SRO, I will perform a variety of roles, to include that of problem-solving, connecting students and parents to outside services, mentoring, being a positive role model, and most importantly, assisting in providing a safe environment so every student has the opportunity to reach their highest potential. I am looking forward to working with students, the school staff, and the community.
