Donations are Needed

Thanks to the support of our amazing community donors and local businesses throughout the past six months, the Maranacook Area Food Bank has been providing curbside service to many families in need in our communities.  All told, we have sent out roughly 475 boxes full of food!!  In addition, this summer we provided the Wayne "Aging at Home" program with 6 boxes per week and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.  Throughout most of this time, we were also able to provide our families with fresh vegetables from Farmer Kev Organics in West Gardiner.

As we enter the new school year, we are beginning to see an increased need for support.  In order to continue to offer these families nutritious food and vegetables, we will need further support from those of you who are able to help.

Food donations can be dropped off inside the front doors of the the middle school.  There is a drop box under a table in the vestibule.  Monetary donations should be dropped off at or mailed to the Superintendent's office.  Checks should be made out to RSU#38 and have the notation " food pantry donation" on the memo line. They can be mailed to RSU #38 Central Office  45 Milliard Harrison Dr. Readfield, ME 04355.

During this school year, we will continue curbside service out of the middle school cafeteria on Thursday afternoons from 3 - 4pm.  We have a wonderful team of volunteers who continue to shop, prep boxes, deliver and distribute each week, to support our families in need.  Please consider helping us out in whatever way you can and thank you.
